Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that causes pain in the heel and bottom of the foot. It occurs when the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes, becomes inflamed or irritated.

This inflammation can be caused by excessive strain, overuse, or improper footwear. People with plantar fasciitis often experience stabbing pain in the heel, especially when taking the first steps in the morning or after long periods of rest.

What Causes Plantar Fasciitis?

And why is your foot pain not getting better?

The bottom of your foot has a type of tissue called the plantar fascia.  Sometimes this tissue can become injured by micro tears in its structure.  It then gets very inflamed and the surrounding tissues are swollen, if not treated properly can take months and months to go away because of the repetitive stress on your heel from walking.

There can be many causes of Plantar Fasciitis including foot mechanics, increased exercises or something as simple as a change in footwear. The thing is people who don't have plantar fasciitis just don't get how painful or restrictive it can really be.

However the good news is that with the right treatment is can be resolved.
